Privacy Policy

Effective November 4, 2026

Somuno is a Mac app by HongyangJin (“we”, “us”) that removes noise and other damage from speech in audio and video files. This policy explains what information the Somuno app and this website handle.

In short: Somuno processes your recordings entirely on your Mac. We don't collect your audio or video, we don't use analytics or advertising, and we don't track you.

Your recordings

Audio and video files you add to Somuno are read, enhanced and saved on your Mac. They are never uploaded – not to us and not to anyone else.

Settings

Somuno keeps its settings, the state of your license and, in the Mac App Store version, the folders you allowed it to save into, in the app's own preferences on your Mac. This information doesn't leave your Mac.

When Somuno connects to the internet

Somuno works offline. It only connects to the internet in these cases:

Purchases on our website

When you buy Somuno Pro on our website, Lemon Squeezy acts as the merchant of record. It collects your name, email address, billing address and payment details to process your order and send your license key. We can see your order – your name, email address and what you bought – to provide support and refunds. We never receive your full payment card details.

Crash reports

If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your Mac's settings, Apple may give us crash reports and usage statistics that don't identify you.

Emails to support

If you email us, we use your message and email address only to answer you. We keep the conversation as long as needed to help you and delete it when you ask.

This website

somuno.pages.dev is a static website hosted by Cloudflare. It uses no cookies, analytics, advertising or third-party scripts. Cloudflare processes your IP address and request details to deliver the pages and protect them against attacks, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Children

Somuno isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

Your rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you – for example support emails or orders from our website – and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@hongyangjin.com. You can deactivate a license key on a Mac at any time in Somuno › Settings… › Somuno Pro.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
